Oh yay!

A couple of my bestest girlfriends are coming down to see me & NZ!

We were supposed to have a girls weekend +1 boy back in May, but a wrench got thrown in the works just a few days before they were to join us for fun. They've been two of the best friends a girl could have...

So..We just set a new date.

This time, nothing can come between us and fun. Double bonus, it's close to Miss Jen's birthday so I get to make a cake!!

I'm so super excited!

What did we get ourselves into?

What did we get ourselves into? It's a whole lotta dirt for a girl that doesn't "do" dirt. The end result is going to be sooooo worth it though.

BEFORE...DURING.... Our backyard's getting a brand new look.. A huge thank you to our future-sister-in-law's family for coming up and helping excavate and rid us of the disgusting iceplant/yucca tree, cinder block wall thing the previous owner had constructed.

Stay tuned...

Real Lucky

Okay, my guilty pleasure ( one of many) has been known by many for quite a lonnnng time, but I can't say that I'm ready to quit it, seeing as I just watched my DVR'd premiere of MTV's REAL WORLD.

Real World? Uhm, more like real lu-cky?!

This season's footage is from CANCUN..As in Cancun, MEXICO..

Really, MTV?! Living for months in CANCUN is hardly realistic...but OMG will I ever be looking forward to 7:00 pm. on Wednesday nights!

My favorites at the beginning of the show rarely end up my faves by the end...I like to make predictions about hook-ups, blow outs and basically who's walk and who's talk..but this season spells it out pretty good from the get go.

Girl with promise "piercing" and her love list writing boyfriend?...I give her two eps, three max before she is hooking up with someone else..

Tatted out music guy?? All I can say is "ick"..He's so ick that if I were the girl that hooked up with him on the first episode, I would just totally skip the opportunity to watch my fifteen minutes of fame when the show aired..Wayyy too embarassing.

Football Stud and fellow Hooterific castmate? Cuddling is not okay when Football Stud has a girl back home. End of story....... He "honestly" tells his girlfriend about it then follows up the bomb he dropped with " You cool with it"? Acts surprised when girlfriend back home no longer wants to come visit. Get with it, dude. Your girlfriend and I could be friends..I like the way she thinks. Have fun with Hootergirl.

Hooteriffic white girl...I predict she will have problems with every other female castmate. Envy sucks.

BFF's..
The two girls who claimed to be instant BFF's will have a falling out..most likely over a guy..and no longer want to be BFF's. I even predict one may get herself kicked off the show..Cat fight anyone? They may be little but they look scrappy.

PaperTowel guy...Funny as hell..At this point, he is my favorite. We shall see how he proceeds to let me down through out the show..But so far, so good.

Token Gay guy..Love him too. He's frank and seems to fit in with everyone..He may be the sleeper..you know, the guy who just sits back and lets drama unfold around him...

Anyhow, with one episode down, I am already liking this Cancun group of Real Worlders...but each season makes me feel that-much-older... Maybe I like the show because I was never as wild and reckless as the castmates are...and I lived vicariously through them. I may never know the answer as to why I get so much joy out of watching this show, but thank you MTV.

Real World never disappoints and this season's cast members in Cancun are Real Lucky.

A little love goes a long way

Since I can not be wrapped around her little finger, I'll have to settle for having the memory of her wrapped around mine.
This little blue box with the most perfect ring was waiting for me upon my return home from work today. Inscribed with I love you around the band, and our little girl's initials inside, this gift from NZ touched my heart.

A real Conversation stopper

I've been back at work since 10 days postpartum...some half days in there, and some days off, but all in all, I got back into the office fairly soon, if I do say so myself. Better to stay busy than to sit and wallow.

One of my fears in going back to work was how I would answer The Questions.

I laid awake at night, thinking of just how to word my answers, as to make people feel less like an a$$ for asking a seemingly harmless question. And really, there is no way around it. No one expects to hear the answer that comes out of my mouth, and once they do...they are at a loss for words.

It's a real conversation stopper.

Some people just look at me and my non-pregnant belly, and say nothing because theyfigured it out for themselves. I had the UPS man say, " Hey, Not much longer..look at that belly" and I bet he felt like the biggest a$$ when I replied that I was no longer expecting...and even more so when he asked how she was doing....Others stare a bit and then give me this questioning look, like, "Hey, I thought you were......"

Me: "Pregnant?" "Yeah, I was. She didn't make it."

I knew that I would have to deal with The Questions at some point, especially since my work involves seeing an average of 30-40 faces per day. I've received so much support from friends, family, patients etc., but I really wish I could erase it all and still be a beaming expectant mother, proudly flaunting the ever growing belly.

I can't hide that I was pregnant, and I really don't want to hide it. I don't mind talking about it..But I have come to learn that there is no easy way to put it out there. I just wish people wouldn't feel bad for asking what happened.

What's done is done, it sucks, it's not fair but don't feel bad for us..

Although NZ are still dealing with our loss we know that when you really want something, you'll go to any measure and fight a good fight to get it.

Which is just what we plan on doing.

Until then, I will be the queen of conversation stoppers.

Life Ain't Always Beautiful...

Life Ain't Always Beautiful, but as Gary Allan will sing, " It's a beautiful ride"...

Dude. I'm stoked.

Gary Allan.

My super duper favorite country artist is coming...to MY town!

I have such a music crush on California-bred country man, Gary Allan. No, I don't want to date him, marry him or have his babies..I've already got a great husband that I wouldn't trade for the World..but like, if I could just borrow him for one night to come sing to me..Uhm, yeah..I might just melt.

NZ even jokes that Gary Allan is my other boyfriend when one of his songs comes on. We've seen him in concert once already..He played for a crowd of about 200 at Thunderbird Stadium in Vacaville a few years back..and we were lucky enough to be down in front with all the other fans. I've been to some great concerts in my time, but the one at T bird was the most memorable. One because of the small crowd size, and 2 because, well..it's my man G to the A to the R Y Allan.

As soon as I heard the ad on the radio this morning I texted NZ and asked if we could go, and his reply?

"Absolutely."

A night out with my husband singing along to my favorite songs.

I'd say I'm a pretty lucky girl.
